The prestigious Opening Ceremony is the high-level event that marks the official start of the activities that encompass the ITS Congress. Taking place on the first day of the Congress on Monday 30 May 2022, ERTICO is delighted to announce that this year the European Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean will play a key role. The ITS European Congress 2022 takes place in the historic city of Toulouse, France and the Host city is planning an exciting theme for the Opening Ceremony that incorporates two of the city’s favourite topics: space and rugby!
The ITS European Congress will also play host to distinguished guests in the Opening Ceremony. There will be welcome speeches from not only the European Commissioner for Transport but also high-level representatives from Toulouse Metropole and the French Ministry for Transport. In addition, there will be an Executive Discussion Panel under the topic: Intelligent Connections for a Smarter city and Future with the Vice President of Qualcomm, Anne-Lise Thieblemont and the CEO of SWARCO Michael Schuch already confirmed.
Under this year’s theme, Smart and Sustainable Mobility for all, the ITS European Congress in Toulouse will provide the opportunity for knowledge and learning in technical sessions where industry experts discuss the latest developments in ITS, will present a range of ‘live’ demonstrations with cutting edge technology and will include an expansive exhibition space where industry players can showcase their products and innovation. Every year, ERTICO- ITS Europe in collaboration with a Host city and supported by the European Commission, organises an ITS regional Congress or World Congress in Europe.
