Meet #ITSLisbon2023 High-Level Speakers

Mar 14, 2023

The High-Level Programme for the 15th ITS European Congress in Lisbon is starting to take shape, inviting some of the most prominent personalities from the smart mobility sector. Four Plenary sessions, reflecting five key topics under the broader theme ‘ITS: The Game Changer’, will offer delegates an exciting opportunity to hear from some of the most influential members of the ITS Community on the latest ITS technologies and new mobility concepts. This year’s line-up of invited High-Level Speakers will explore and challenge current thinking, pushing forward new ideas in smart mobility and game-changing technologies.

The ITS European Congress in Lisbon invites some of the leading experts to present and profile their innovations, products, services and experience in smart mobility. Keynote speakers from various sectors, industry groups, and domains address cross-cutting topics. Prior to the official Opening Ceremony, taking place on Monday, 22 May, Plenary 1 from 15.00 – 16.00 will shed light on some of the main challenges and opportunities brought about by the digitalisation of transportation. Moderated by Joost Vantomme, CEO of ERTICO – ITS Europe, the invited panellist will discuss the balancing act that may be required between data owners and data users, as well as the goals of the public and private sectors, and whether access to services without data sharing is an option.

Michael Schuch, CEO of SWARCO, is looking forward to participating as a keynote:

“Digitalisation has been daily practice in modern traffic management for many years. And it keeps on evolving, most recently with the advent of Artificial Intelligence. Data collection and fusion from different detection devices, the conversion of data into useful information and subsequently into mobility management strategies tackling the most pressing issues like carbon emissions are part of SWARCO’s intelligent traffic solutions. Cooperative, connected and automated mobility strongly relies on digitalisation. However, digitalisation also includes privacy and cyber security aspects that have to be dealt with carefully. I look forward to interesting discussions in Lisbon.”

Register here and join us in Lisbon to hear more from some of the world’s leading experts and decision-makers behind the solutions and technologies that are the backbone of intelligent transport systems.
